Set in a dystopian Britain, the film’s protagonist is Alex DeLarge. Alex is the leader of a band of delinquents who spend their evenings drinking milk-plus at the Korova Milk bar before indulging in extreme acts of “ultra-violence” which includes thrashing older men and mercilessly raping women.
Mostly teenage boys/immature men with poor social skills who think that people don't like them because everyone else is stupid and they're the only cool people. Usually, they're just super pretentious and unlikable. It's ok to like the character. It's not ok to idolize the character. Especially if the character treats women like shit.
In terms of giant destruction, DeLarge is outclassed, Tyler's big feat is a bombing campaign. Joker has destroyed cities before. In a gang fight DeLarge is outclassed even worse, and it comes down to Durden's secretive anarchists versus Joker's highly dangerous heavily armed psychopaths.
